- GOALS
- to improve the quality of our best / national teams by creating international challenges
- to support the contacts between players of our countries on a wider scale
- to increase the importance of certain tournaments by rising the number of participating teams from other countries
- to deepen the understanding of the development and the needs of the Pétanque federations in the neighbouring countries
- to have fun together
- to support the development of juniors through becoming familiar with international challenges
- to make Pétanque more popular and more attractive for sponsors
- MODE OF CENTROPE CUP
- the number of tournaments for the CC is limited by the number of participating countries (2005: 6 tournaments)
- the CC creates at the end a ranking for the countries and not for singular teams
- for CC only teams consisting of players with actual licences from the same country will be considered
- there is no limit by numbers for the teams who start for one country at a tournament
- at the end of each CC- tournament only the four best teams (maximum) of a country receive points for CC
- for CC the 16 best places of tournament count:
- there is no special regulation for junior teams who participate except that the best homogeneous junior teams of a tournament receives an special award from the organizing country
- for the final country ranking of CC all points - collected by each country at the 6 tournaments - will be added
- MODE OF TOURNAMENTS
- the tournaments of CC can be triplettes or doublettes or triplettes mixte
- each tournament will last only one day
- all CC- tournaments are open also for participants from Non-CC-countries and there is no overall limitation for the number of teams
- all tournaments will be on Saturdays (for travelling reasons)
- the tournaments may have different modes
- each participating team should have the possibility to play at least 5 matches
- therefore all tournaments will have an obligatory time limit (except final rounds): for fairness & practical reasons 40 minutes + 2 draws are recommended
- two members of the jury have to be nominated by other countries than the organizing one
- the results of each CC-tournament are communicated to all federations by email within one week
- ORGANIZATION & FINANCE
- each participating team and country carries its own costs (for food, accommodation, travelling,..)
- the organizing country provides a maximum of information (location, transport, accommodation, security, parking, ….)
- it is recommended that one team from each country is released from tournament fee
- the CC -winning country will receive a challenge trophy and there will be small additional prizes for the places 1- 3
- the financial contribution of each federation is 100 €
- each federation is responsible for promotion and organization in its country
- the actual results and standings of CC are published on the websites of the federations
